Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is first, and foremost, evidence-based. In-fact it is one of the few talking therapies that was developed from an evidence base, rather than theory-driven. A large family therapy centre discovered from carefully studying thousands of hours of talking therapy that there were reliable patterns of therapeutic conversation that allowed clients to actually move forward with therapy, improve their lives and not need to see a therapist anymore.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy allows people to overcome difficulties and vastly improve their quality of life without dwelling on problems of the past. A Solution Focused Therapist won’t try to analyse or ‘diagnose’ your problems? Instead of looking for issues and problems, we are looking for skills and attributes that are already helpful. We’ll ask you about your best hopes. We’ll ask you about how you are managing in these difficult times? What would be different if your problem was gone? And what might be a small sign of progress? In this way, we can help our clients to facilitate lasting change, often remarkably quickly.
Solution focused hypnotherapy
We all use trance every day. It’s easy to achieve and is an amazingly relaxing and reviving experience (and has absolutely nothing to do with walking around like a chicken!). It works incredibly well with the Solution Focused approach because essentially, in both, we’re helping you use the part of your brain that comes up with the good ideas and calms down the bit that is trying to keep you safe from threats. When you think about it you never come up with your best ideas when you’re stressed. Almost always those good decisions and ideas that move you forward in life come when we’re driving, taking a shower, walking the dog… when we’re using trance.
What to expect
Solution Focused Brief Therapy, is just that... brief. You might be surprised just how quickly you see a difference. Length of therapy is entirely led by your individual progress, but our ethos is that the therapy takes as long as it takes, but not one session more. We firmly believe that people have much more interesting and fulfilling ways to spend their time than in a therapy room, and we aim to get you to the best version of yourself, thriving and enjoying your life, as quickly as possible. Initial consultation: 45min FREE
Individual therapy session: 1hr. £95
Smoking cessation: either 2 x 1-hour therapy or 1 x 2-hour therapy session. £180. (no initial consultation required)
Fast Phobia Package: 3 x 1hr therapy sessions £250 (does require a free initial consultation to ensure this is the right approach for you)
Block bookings: 6 sessions £525.00
